This policy explains how 9stars Wisdom Tech Co., Ltd. (“PetAcu”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information on pet-acu.com. We are based in Xiamen, China. Our audience is mainly in the United States and Canada, with other countries to follow.

1. Who is responsible

2. Information we collect

Newsletter. If you subscribe, we collect your email address and your confirmation that you agree to receive emails. The signup form is handled by Formspree, a service that receives and forwards form submissions. Each newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link and our mailing address.
Clinic accounts, claims and listings. If you register, claim a profile or submit a listing through our directory software, we collect the details you enter, such as your name, email address, phone number, clinic name and address, website, services, credentials and licence information, images and any messages or files you upload, plus your login details (passwords are stored in encrypted form).
Messages. If you email us or use a contact or enquiry form, we keep your message and our reply.
Payments. If we offer paid listings or services in future, payments will be handled by a third-party payment processor. We do not store full payment card numbers.
Technical data. Our web host and WordPress record standard technical information when you visit, such as IP address, browser type, device, pages requested, and date and time. We use it to run, secure and troubleshoot the site.
Cookies. We use cookies that are necessary for the site to work, for example to keep registered users logged in and to protect forms. At the time of writing we do not use analytics or advertising cookies or tracking pixels. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for consent where the law requires it.
Public clinic information. Directory pages show business details such as name, address, phone, website and services. We collect them from the clinic or from public sources. Practitioner names appear where they are part of a clinic’s public profile.

We do not knowingly collect information from children, and the site is not directed at children under 16.

3. How we use information

to send the newsletter you asked for (you can unsubscribe at any time),
to create and manage accounts, review claims and listings, and publish profiles,
to reply to enquiries, corrections and privacy requests,
to keep the site secure, prevent abuse and fix problems,
to meet legal obligations and to enforce our Terms of Use.

Where the law of your location requires a legal basis, we rely on your consent (for example newsletter signup), on performing a service you asked for, on our legitimate interests in running and protecting the site, or on legal obligations.

4. Who we share information with

Service providers that help us run the site, such as our hosting provider in the United States, Formspree (form handling) and our email delivery service. They may process information only to provide their service to us.
Fonts and icons. The site may load fonts and icon files from third-party content delivery services such as Google Fonts. Your browser then connects to those providers, and they receive your IP address and technical information.
Authorities and advisers when the law requires it or when we need to protect rights, safety or security.
A successor if the business is sold or reorganised.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

5. Links to other sites

PetAcu links to clinic websites, Gumroad and other third parties. When you follow a link, their privacy practices apply. When you buy from Gumroad, Gumroad collects and processes your order information under its own policy.

6. International transfers

The pet-acu.com website, its database and the forms described above are hosted on servers in the United States. Our team is based in China and can access this information remotely to run the site, review listings and answer requests. Your information may therefore be stored in the United States and accessed from China, which may be outside your own country, where data protection laws may differ. We limit access to the people who need it and take reasonable steps to protect it. By using the site you understand that this happens.

7. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Clinic account and listing details are kept while the account or listing is active. Emails and server logs are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and to keep the site secure. After that we delete or anonymise the information, unless the law requires us to keep it.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, to withdraw consent, to object to or restrict some uses, and not to be treated unfairly for using these rights. This includes rights under US state privacy laws such as California’s, Canada’s privacy laws, Australia’s Privacy Act, New Zealand’s Privacy Act, Saudi Arabia’s Personal Data Protection Law and China’s Personal Information Protection Law, to the extent they apply.

To use a right, email us with the subject “Privacy request”. We may need to verify your identity. We respond within the time the law requires.
To stop the newsletter, use the unsubscribe link in any email or write to us.
You may also complain to your local privacy authority.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information. No online service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Choose a strong password for any account and tell us if you suspect misuse.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will say so on the site or by email.
