About PetAcu

PetAcu is an educational website and directory about veterinary acupuncture, built for pet owners and veterinary professionals around the world. It helps people find clinics and practitioners that list acupuncture among their services, publishes reference material on conditions and acupuncture points, and curates books and tools on acupuncture.

Who runs PetAcu

PetAcu is operated by 9stars Wisdom Tech Co., Ltd., a team based in Xiamen, China, with a long-standing focus on acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). The team researches acupuncture, TCM and Chinese patent medicines, writes books on these subjects, and shares that knowledge online with readers around the world. The PetAcu website and its data are hosted in the United States.

Our guides are prepared by the PetAcu editorial team, led by Dr. Frank Li. Unless a page names a licensed veterinarian as its reviewer, it has not been reviewed by a licensed veterinarian.

What you will find here

  • Clinic directory. Veterinary clinics and practitioners that offer acupuncture, organised by location. Each listing shows how complete and how verified it is (see “How listings work” below).
  • Condition guides. Plain-language guides to conditions in dogs, cats and other animals: what to watch for, when to see a veterinarian, and how acupuncture may be used alongside veterinary care.
  • Acupuncture points atlas. Reference charts and notes by species for students and professionals.
  • Resources. Guides, books and tools for owners and clinics. This includes our own digital products, which we currently sell only on Gumroad. Any product from another maker is labelled and explained in our Affiliate and Product Disclosure.

What PetAcu does not do

  • We do not diagnose or treat animals, and we do not give veterinary advice.
  • We are not a veterinary practice, and we do not operate any of the clinics listed.
  • A listing is not an endorsement or a guarantee of quality or outcomes.

If your animal is in pain, cannot walk, cannot urinate, is struggling to breathe or has suddenly changed, contact a veterinarian or emergency animal hospital now. Please read our Medical Disclaimer.

How listings work

Clinics can be listed without paying. We use four labels so that visitors can tell what has been checked:

  • Listed: the clinic appears in the directory. We have not confirmed its credentials.
  • Claimed: the clinic owner has asked to manage the profile. Claiming is not verification.
  • Credential verified: we have checked a stated credential against a public source. The source and the date are shown.
  • Featured / Sponsored: paid or promotional placement, if offered. Featured placement never means that a clinic has been verified.
